The community in Hamburg began in 1993 in East Aurora, New York,
with a construction crew and a very small household of 15-20 people.
We have moved a few times since then and have opened a bakery
and an iron forge. As the early church did, our life centers around
our master, Yahshua, as we devote our lives to him and to each
other daily. We all live together and share all things in common
just as the disciples our master gathered did after he rose victoriously
over death.
Our industries allow us to work alongside our children and each
other. This also allows us to be visible to all those who live
around us as people come into our bakery and we go to craft shows
to display our products. We are now approximately 60 people in
two households and are always looking for ways to share with others
the life that we have in our master, Yahshua.
Most of us were searching for meaning to life and for real love
that allows us to lay down our lives every day for our brothers
and sisters. We are really thankful for the way our master searched
us out and led us into the path of someone who had already been
immersed in this life. We know there are many other people out
there with the same heart as ours, and we are always looking to
share what we have found with them.
This is a way of life that does away with loneliness and separation
a true unity of heart and mind. One heart, one mind,
one way, the way of Yahshua. We live a simple, normal life
and wholeheartedly welcome visitors, be it for a day or
to stay. [Feb99]
