Welcome down to the
sleepy village of Coxsackie.
Preserved by neglect
for
100 years, the old
buildings stand just
as they are in the
yellowed
postcards, frozen in
time, waiting for loving
hands to bring them
to life
again. We chose this
town for its potential,
and our community’s
vision is
a long-term one as
we chip away at fixing
up these buildings
and restoring
their former glory.
It will take years,
but we are committed
for as long as
it takes.
As the buildings gradually
are healed, we are
also seeing healing
in our own
personal lives and
families, as we trust
our entire lives to
our
Master Yahshua.
Many of us had some
cracks and flaws
in our
foundations
and
walls, but through
the help of our brothers
and sisters, speaking
the truth
in love to us, we are
being rebuilt into
what we were created
to be.
We own a beautiful
but forlorn 3-story
opera house called
the Building Block
right next to the Hudson
River, which will one
day host our own plays.
The
public will be able
to travel up the river,
dock their boat, and
meander
through waterfront
gardens into the theater,
where they will be
challenged,
inspired, and enlightened
by a vast variety of
productions. For now,
we
endure the greater
work of building patience
in our hearts.
Next to this, a quaint
building that used
to be the Electric
Company now
houses our print shop,
which supplies printed
materials to our cottage
industries and develops
curriculum for our
children. There is
also a 1850s
Victorian storefront,
once condemned, but
now home to our families
and our
shoe store called “Simon
the Tanner.”
Come by boat or come
by car. Our doors
are always open to
you. We love to
share the hope that
we have. We're about
10 minutes off the
I-87 Thruway
and the closest community
to New York City. Come
for a day or to stay!
