"It is too small a thing that You should be
My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to
restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will
also make You a light of the nations so that my salvation
may reach to the end of the earth." —Isaiah
49:6
What is it about those tribes of Jacob? What do they
have to do with the whole earth? Well, Jacob had twelve
sons and from each of these sons came forth a tribe,
each by the name of their father. These tribes have
been scattered and lost, but now they are re-emerging
on the earth! This is God's doing and it is marvelous
in our eyes… What is a tribe? A cluster of many households,
clans, and communities, all in a designated geographic
area of the earth. From these dwelling places of the
tribe a light goes out to the whole tribal area. Eventually,
all tribal areas will reach the remotest parts of the
earth with the light of their life.
