The Fallen Church

"Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place — unless you repent" (Rev 2:5). So many generations have passed since the life described in Acts 2 & 4 disappeared that it is natural to suppose such a life was not meant to continue. The teachings in the Bible and even our own consciences, however, testify that true disciples should experience a life very different from what is found in Christianity today.

The Contradiction
These articles address the gap between the abundant life promised by the Master and the churches as they are today.

Church and State
The Christian Church has a long history of joining herself to the state with bloody consequences. In these last days, she will once again take the reins of power.

Personal Experiences
Some of us tell you straight from the heart how we tried to make sense out of life as a Christian... and couldn't.

The Contradiction

When You Wish Upon a Star  Part 1 | Part 2

In October 1989, Billy Graham allowed his name to be engraved in a bronze star on Hollywood Boulevard, along with the greatest stars of the entertainment world. What is the message that has made Billy Graham a star? Is it the same gospel the apostles preached in the first century?

A Little Leaven Leavens the Whole Lump

What was once characterized by the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth became a fully leavened lump of hypocrisy and deceit.

A Truly Sustainable Life

Unmasking the Other Gospel

The Apostle Paul warned repeatedly about those who would bring another gospel, different from the one he preached. Here we find a dialog that helps us to see what is truly written in the Word.

Taken In

Weary with trying to find his way, the young man sat down, leaned back against a tree and closed his eyes. A shadow passed over him. He quickly opened his eyes and saw a beautiful, wealthy woman staring intently at him...

The Story of Roger Williams

Roger Williams was a Separatist who fled to the New World in the 1600s. He established a colony in what became Rhode Island where true freedom of religious conviction was upheld.

The Separation of Church and State

The church was never intended to interfere with the lesser concerns of worldly government, but instead be consumed with the higher concerns of God's Kingdom.

Roger Williams and the Separatist Movement

The Puritan colonists who had arrived in the ten years prior to Roger Williams had no intention of establishing religious freedom.

Personal Experiences

Almost Perfect

When I grew up, life was simple. We lived on a farm and had no modern conveniences. Our water came from a pump, we had no indoor plumbing, we heated with wood…

Snapshots: One Man's Journey

The excitement of the Jesus Movement gave way to the bitter heartache of failed churches and unfulfilled hopes, until he stumbled upon a treasure...

The Great Cover-Up

Just as Adam and Eve realized they were naked and sewed fig leaves together, my "walk with God" was founded on my efforts to clothe myself and cover over my sin-filled state.

I Was Trained to be a Sorcerer

Sorcery! At the very sound of the word your mind rushes to thoughts of darkened rooms, occult rituals, and poor, unsuspecting victims...

Imaginary Church

After the last gospel song had ended, the choir girl stepped down from the platform and made her way down the aisle toward my seat...

Making it On My Own

When I became a Christian, I knew the Word of God was true. But where on earth was His Word being lived out daily?

Dying in the Church

Many are dying in the churches of Christianity today. Perhaps you are one of them...

God's Messengers

After years of pastoring in a Bible-believing evangelical church, I came to see that I was unwittingly a part of a masquerade party.
